Detroit Lions reportedly make a decision at long snapper
..........
This new thread relates to the following thread and the thread links in that discussion:
Lions projected 53 man roster ( 2024 season ) detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/2210/lions-projected-roster-2024-season
While I thought that Scott Daly had a slight edged over Hogan Hatten to win the Lions LS job, I thought the battle was even close after the Lions pre-season finale vs. the Steelers, then I thought prior to the game. The Lions coaches gave Hatten a number of chances to LS vs. the Steelers.
The reason why I thought Daly had the slight edge over Hatten is the Lions are going with a rookie Kicker. Now, the Lions are going with 2 rookie Specialists out of 3, regarding LS, Holder, and Kicker, with P Jack Fox remaining the Lions Holder. For a team with legit Super Bowl hopes, going with 2 out of 3 rookie Specialists isn't the norm. Hopefully, they at least play around the level that Brad Holmes, Dan Campbell, Dave Fipp, and Jett Modkins anticipate.
