While I still projected Mitchell Agude surviving the Lions cutdown to 53, I lowered him in the Lions DE/ Edge Pecking order from # 4 to # 6 after the pre-season finale vs. the Steelers after seeing Agude in the game in the latter half of the 4th QTR. My projection became the Lions would keep a 6th DE/ Edge player on the initial 53 man roster because of the quality at the position, compared to some other position units on the team. IMHO, Agude got caught in a numbers game.
I believe there's as much as a 45 % chance Agude will be claimed off waivers. If Agude isn't claimed off waivers, I hope and expect him to be a PS priority for the Lions. With the two parties coming to a PS contract agreement. Agude fits the Lions program, with his work ethic, hustle, and versatility, in addition to Agude having talent. His upside isn't as much as James Houston and Isaac Ukwu but I believe he belongs on an NFL 53 man roster.
