Jaguars set to sign Gabe Davis
..........
I doubt the Lions were in the market for Gabe Davis. I'm also not anticipating the Lions being in the market for Calvin Ridley. Davis doesn't seem like a good culture fit for the Lions. Ridley's previous gambling suspension, combined with the cost factor, are why I don't think the Lions are a player for Ridley.
With the Bills, it seemed like Gabe Davis was very inconsistent from game to game. In some games, he was a positive difference maker. But in some other games, he was a different player. Maybe, a change of scenery, playing close to home (he's from the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area-Fernandina Beach) will lead to Davis becoming the player the Jaguars envision?

Chargers release Mike Williams
..........
The combination of Mike Williams turning 30 this coming October and him coming off a torn ACL leads me to believe that if the Lions have interest in Williams, it would be a short term highly incentive based contract. More likely than not, another team will offer Williams a contract that the Lions wouldn't be willing to offer him.

Darnell Mooney agrees to three-year deal with Falcons
.....
With Darnell Mooney coming off a disappointing season, after not building on his 2021 season in 2022, I'm surprised the Falcons gave him a contract with this much value. At a much lower price, Mooney would have been worth the Lions considering.

Calvin Ridley to sign with Titans
x.com/PSchrags/status/1768032929936965785?s=20 .........
I didn't think Calvin Ridley would get a contract offer even close to the Titans offer. I have doubts that any other team was even close to the Titans in the bidding for Ridley. I understand that they want to surround QB Will Levis with talented players. But under these contract terms, the risk appears to be noticeably greater than the reward.
It didn't get any easier for the Lions to come to a contract agreement with Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Two free agent wide receivers that could fit the Detroit Lions
........
Of the two WRs, Noah Brown seems like a better culture fit. Yet, he would especially need to be cleared medically by the Lions, because of the shoulder injury he's dealt with this summer.
Terrqce Marshall Jr. is subject to the waiver claims process.
