Part of the Lions decision making process with the Pick # 29 draft resource is very likely what are the options likely for Round 2 and 3, when the Lions are scheduled to pick? The same regarding the Pick # 61 and Pick # 73 draft resources.

No. 29 Detroit Lions: OL Zach Frazier, West Virginia
I’m sticking with Frazier here, as his profile screams Lions — though I do think a trade (up or down) could be in the works and Frazier is the type of player Detroit might be able to land early in Round 2. As it stands, the Lions value linemen and have long-term needs Frazier would help fill. Newton, Robinson, DeJean and McKinstry also could be fits, and I also considered Oregon offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson and a couple defensive backs I have going in Round 2.

If the Lions have a grade on Amarius Mims that would warrant Pick # 29, he would be my first choice of the available options at # 29. Jackson Powers-Johnson would be my 2nd choice. If Zach Frazier would be the Lions choice, unless his grade by the Lions is clearly above other players at positions the Lions would like to address, I hope the Lions trade down a few spots. If the Lions land Frazier and draft compensation, that probably would be a good outcome.
