Packers struggling run game faces 'very disruptive' Lions run defense
..........
This new thread relates to the following thread:
Lions at Packers Injury info: Game # 4 ( 2023 )
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1904/lions-packers-injury-info-game
Brian Branch (# 32) has been the Lions Nickel (Slot CB) on the vast majority, if not all, of the Lions Defensive snaps this season in which Branch was in the game. The Lions have often put a Safety (not including Branch) in the box or near the box.
The Lions run Defense has been a team strength through 3 games. Yet, it's going to take continued focus and desire for that to continue.
If Aaron Jones does play in this game, the Packers probably will limit his carries since he's coming off a hamstring injury. When Jones is at or near peak form, he has often been a difference maker as a rusher and as a receiver.

Packers defense must have answer for Lions run game
.........
It can't be overstated that the Lions running game is vital to the team's chances of winning the game and keeping Jared Goff in one piece. This is the case for every Lions game with Goff as the team's QB.

PFT’s 2023 Week 4 NFL picks, Florio vs. Simms
Lions (-1.5) at Packers
It’s potentially Jordan Love’s prime-time coming-out party. One of us thinks the Lions will spoil it.
Florio: Packers, 23-20.
Simms: Lions, 24-20.
..........
Mike Florio's score prediction is the one I have been leaning too for this game.

Detroit Lions biggest key matchup vs. Green Bay Packers
..........
With the Packers starting Left Side of their Offensive Line out for this game, the Packers probably are going to need to either keep in an extra blocker on planned longer developing passing plays or at least use chip blocking help on the outside.
Rashan Gary suffered a season ending knee injury in Detroit in the Lions 15-9 win over the Packers in early November last season. The loss of Gary easily could have cost the Packers a playoff spot. Gary's recovery is definitely amongst the best stories for the Packers in the early part of this season.

Lions keys to victory against the Packers in Week 4
..........
Being that this is a short week for both teams, this would be a good week for Ben Johnson to use plays/ wrinkles the Packers haven't seen from the Lions Offense.
Jordan Love hasn't been a model of consistency. But when considering the Packers Injuries on Offense in the early part of the season and Love finally getting extensive playing time in the NFL, he's done a good job in helping the Packers being 2-1 (tied for 1st Place in the NFC North).
The Lions clearly need for the Packers to respect the Lions deep passing game.
Dan Campbell contributed greatly to the Lions finishing the 2022 season with a win over the Packers in Lambeau Field, that eliminated the Packers from the playoffs. This, after the Lions were eliminated from the playoffs earlier in the evening, with Seattle beating the LA Rams in OT. With the Lions having higher stakes tonight, I'm confident that Coach Campbell will get through to the Lions players that this game is a huge opportunity for the Lions.

5 keys to Packers beating Lions in Week 4
..........
The Lions Defense has been at least adequate against defending RBs against the pass. Having said that, if Aaron Jones is relatively healthy, as a receiving RB, he's on a higher level than any RB the Lions faced in the first 3 games of the season.

Packers Wire staff predictions: Week 4 vs. Lions
.......
It's been a long time (I can't recall when) that as many as all 4 (even all 3) opposing team Beat Reporters predicted the Lions to win on the road against the team that cover as Beat Reporters.

Detroit Lions, Packers fight for division supremacy: 'We kind of flourish' in games like this
..........
The Lions have won in the last two Prime Time Road games the team has played in. While the Lions will enter this game with confidence, it can't be stated enough that this is a different game. Unlike the Packers game at the end of last season and the Chiefs game to begin this season, the Lions are favorite to win tonight. The Lions can't afford to be overconfident. The Packers likely have a chip on their collective shoulder, after the Lions ended their 2022 season. The Packers are a talented team. That much more, if Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and Jaire Alexander play in this game and are relatively healthy.
Regardless which team wins this game, the NFC North Race has a long way to go before it's decided. I'm not counting the Vikings out either, despite their 0-3 start. Unlike last regular season, when the Vikings went 11-0 in close games, they are 0-3 in close games in the early part of this season.

Lions vs. Packers: Last-minute thoughts and score prediction
............
A scenario that concerns me greatly regarding the Lions chances of winning the game is if the Lions are in comeback mode in the 2nd half, if the Lions need to depend mostly on the passing game. The Lions would be in serious trouble against the Packers Pass Rush, if the Packers are expecting a long or even medium passing play.
