Don’t be surprised if the Detroit Lions draft an offensive lineman early
……………………………..
Chris Lindstrom would be great value for the Lions if he falls to pick # 43 in Round 2. I'm not counting on this happening but it's not a total pipe dream.
Cody Ford likely won't be available with pick #43 but he would likely be under serious consideration by the Lions if he lasts that long.
Round 3 looks like the more realistic time of the draft when need meets value at Guard.

Report: Jonah Williams visiting Jets on Tuesday
Jonah Williams takes preparation to the next level
………………..
I expressed the following in the 'Lions have Pick # 8 in the 2019 NFL Draft' thread:
I hope the Lions pass on Jonah Williams or any other Offensive Lineman with pick # 8. Even in a trade down, I prefer the Lions going in another direction. Using a 2nd or 3rd Round pick on an Interior Offensive Lineman seems like a more effective way for the Lions to maximize 2019 draft resources.
Though Jonah Williams has very good intangibles and he should be able to transition to either Guard position, his size and strength isn't pick # 8 caliber. I have some doubts that he would be the type of fit the Lions are seeking at Tackle or Guard.
There's a realistic chance Jonah Williams will be drafted in the top 10. I would be very surprised though if he went in the top 4 spots of the draft.

If Detroit Lions go OL early in NFL draft, it's one of these 2 players
…………………………………………………
I don't think the Lions will draft Jawaan Taylor unless the plan is to trade Rick Wagner. I'm not anticipating this combination happening.
The Lions will probably need to trade down at least twice to get enough value to take an Offensive Lineman in the 1st Round.
Nate Davis and Oli Udoh probably wouldn't be preferred starters as rookies. However, they have good long range potential.

Jonah Williams seems mature beyond his years. He will be a good addition to any NFL Locker Room.

2019 NFL draft preview: Why offensive line is Lions’ top immediate need
………………..
Andre Dillard is probably the best long term pass blocking LT in this draft. I don't think he would be an efficient selection for the Lions, based on the team's roster/ situation.
Michael Deiter is who I'm projecting the Lions drafting with pick #88 in Round 3. Deiter's versatility jumped out immediately. His overall intangibles are a huge plus. Wisconsin Offensive Lineman have had a good collective track record for quite a while. They are very well coached on the college level. Deiter would be a strong candidate to start as a rookie. He's a better fit at Guard than Tackle.
Lamont Gaillard could realistically be taken from Round 3 to Round 6. Because the Patriots have had huge success with former Georgia Center David Andrews ( who was an UDRFA in 2015 ), Gaillard is likely heavily on the Lions radar screen. He's more of a developmental player than Deiter.
Ross Pierschbacher has also been very well coached. The Alabama background likely heavily puts him on the Lions radar screen. He has experience at Center and prior to that at Guard. He could realistically go from Round 3 to Round 6.
