I think there's a pretty good chance that the Lions view Oday Aboushi as a cheaper salary cap replacement for Kenny Wiggins. Or at the very least will ask Wiggins to restructure his contract downward to remain with the team.

I thought the Lions clearly got the best of Aboushi in the Lions 17-3 win at Arizona this past December. Part of that might have been the makeshift Offensive Line the Cardinals were using because of injury. The Lions need a better starting option at RG than Wiggins or Aboushi.

Talented Defensive Lineman expose the physical limitations of Oday Aboushi, much like with Kenny Wiggins. Neither should be remotely considered a starting option one can feel comfortable with on an extended basis.

The 18th best PFF rating for Guards in the final 8 games was for Pass Blocking only. Clearly, NFL GMs have doubts based on the modest 1 year contract the Lions reportedly agreed to with Oday Aboushi.
