Detroit Lions 2019 NFL Draft prospect: Arizona State WR N’Keal Harry
……………
N’Keal Harry probably will be drafted in Round 2. With the lower part of Round 1 the highest he will be taken and the upper part of Round 3 the lowest.
I prefer a WR with better separation skills than Harry if the Lions draft a WR in Round 2. However, Harry would be a decent value selection with pick # 43 in Round 2.

Detroit Lions 2019 NFL Draft prospect: Mississippi WR D.K. Metcalf
…………………..
I agree with Nate Atkins assessment that the Lions should and will pass on D.K. Metcalf in Round 1.
Chances are D.K. Metcalf won't go in the top 10 of the draft. But all it takes is one team to be enamored with his rare size-speed-vertical jump ratio to pull the trigger on him in the top 10. Ideally, before the Lions pick, hence freeing up another player.

Detroit Lions 2019 NFL draft prospect: Iowa State WR Hakeem Butler
………………………
It's not a given Hakeem Butler will be drafted in Round 1. Being that based on history Bob Quinn very likely won't draft a WR anywhere in Round 1, the question becomes whether the Lions should draft him if he's available with pick # 43 in Round 2?
I think Hakeem Butler projects as a somewhat better downfield option and red zone option than N’Keal Harry does. The separation skills factor is why I'm hesitating whether the Lions should take him at # 43 under many scenarios. Butler probably should at least be in the conversation.

2019 NFL draft preview: Starters in place at receiver, but needs remain
…………………………………………………
Deebo Samuel could realistically be taken in the later Part of Round 1 through most of Round 3. My gut feeling is he's going to be drafted by the end of Round 2 because of his versatility, unique skills, and competitiveness. Samuel has 4 Kickoff Returns for TDs with South Carolina.
It comes down to what the Lions are looking for at WR. If the priority is a vertical deep threat that will be a large target, Samuel wouldn't be a good enough fit. If it's a versatile receiver / player who would fit the slot best on Offense, Samuel seems like a good to very good option with pick # 43. He's the type of player that will provide roster flexibility, both in terms of the 53 man roster and on game days.
