The familiarity that Mohamed Ibrahim has with the Lions Offensive System, Jared Goff, Lions Offensive Line, and TEs, probably was a major factor in the Lions signing him to the Practice Squad.

The health situation with Jahmyr Gibbs will go a very long way in whether the Lions elevate Ibrahim from the Practice Squad for the upcoming game in Baltimore.

Most likely, Jake McQuaide will be elevated from the Practice Squad for the Lions game at the LA Chargers, instead of him being signed to the Lions 53 man roster leading up to that game.

How the Lions will proceed with McQuaide after the Chargers game will very likely depend on the Lions injury situation following the game. The Lions can elevate McQuaide from the P.S. a maximum of 3 games.

Because Jake McQuaide practiced with Jack Fox and Riley Patterson before being released by the Lions, that was clearly the # 1 reason the Lions brought him back.

It remains to be seen if Jason Cabinda will be elevated from the Practice Squad for the regular season finale vs. the Vikings and / or in the playoffs. My gut feeling at this time is Cabinda won't get an opportunity in the playoffs, barring an injury to one or more Lions TEs or to LB-FB Malcolm Rodriquez.

Bruce Irvin indicates he's not on the Lions anymore

With the Lions having multiple edge options and Bruce Irvin not providing the Lions with much as a pass rusher in the last two games he played in, it made sense for the Lions not to commit to Irvin moving forward. I wish Bruce Irvin well. This probably will be his final NFL season.

One possibility that comes to mind is the Lions might be moving on from DT Benito Jones either today or before the Lions season ends. Jones only had 11 Defensive snaps vs. the LA Rams in the Lions 1st Round playoff win.
