Lions release Quintez Cephus, C.J. Moore following gambling suspensions

The Lions made a good decision moving on from both players. I don't anticipate either player getting another opportunity with the Lions, assuming the NFL will reinstate them in 2024 or beyond. Both will probably get an opportunity with another NFL team if they are reinstated by the NFL.
C.J. Moore had a good chance of being on the Lions 53 man roster this season. Especially, because of his Special Teams contributions.
Quintez Cephus would have been in competition for a backup WR spot.
Both players can be replaced without major difficulties, especially since the suspensions came before the draft, with many veterans with either similar skill sets or other skill sets the Lions can use, still on the open FA market.
