Lions draft profile: Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas
.........
This new thread relates to the following thread:
Lions have Picks # 6 and # 18 in the 2023 NFL Draft
detroit-lions-forum.proboards.com/thread/1681/lions-picks-2023-nfl-draft
Roschon Johnson ran a 4.58 40, measuring 6'0"/ 219.
While the limited to very limited mileage on Roschon Johnson is a positive, the question is whether Johnson has enough ability to be more than a backup rotation NFL RB? In what's a deep RB draft crop, I think the Lions can get better value in Round 3 with Pick # 81 than what Johnson would likely provide. If Johnson is still available with Pick # 184 in Round 5 and the Lions haven't drafted a RB yet, he would be worth seriously considering.

Lions 2023 draft preview: Detroit could be in the market for some Swift insurance
........
I'm not ruling out Bijan Robinson to be selected by the Lions with Pick # 6. However, if Robinson lasts to Pick # 18, which I don't think will happen, there's a greater chance the Lions would draft him in that spot.
Devon Achane is intriguing as a Round 2 option for the Lions because of his big play as a rusher, receiving, and on kickoff returns. Especially, with Pick # 55. Achane likely won't last to Pick # 81 in Round 3.

Why the Detroit Lions should draft Bijan Robinson
.....
Bijan Robinson would make a ton of sense for the Lions with Pick # 18 but I don't think Robinson will last to Pick # 18.
While I think it's much less likely than not that the Lions will draft Robinson with Pick # 6, I would respect the decision if the Lions draft Robinson that high. It wouldn't even surprise me if Seattle drafts Robinson with Pick # 5. Pete Carroll wants the running game to be the focal point of the Seahawks Offense. It's a primary reason why Russell Wilson wanted out of Seattle.
If the Lions trade down from Pick # 6 and land Robinson, that would be a great draft outcome for the Lions.
