KhaDarel Hodge, Browns: Hodge was the only wide receiver in the NFL to pick up a first down with all of his catches in 2020 (min. 10). He’s a former Ram who thrived on special teams in Cleveland as well as playing as a reserve WR both outside and in the slot.

KhaDarel Hodge would be the Lions 7th WR on the team's 53 man roster unless the Lions moved someone off the roster. Tom Kennedy would be the most likely Lions WR to survive the cutdown to 53 to be released. Quentez Cephus would be a distant 2nd.

Much like the Broncos, the Browns depth at WR led to the Lions ending up with a WR. Unlike with Trinity Benson, the Lions were able to add Hodge without trading for him. My gut feeling is the Lions needed to trade for Benson to acquire him. The Lions are 7th in the Waiver Claim process through at least the first 3 games of the regular season.

1. How long will it take for him to be comfortable in the Lions system?

It helps that Jared Goff and KhaDarel Hodge were teammates with the LA Rams.

2. What is Hodge's upside as a WR?

While Trinity Benson has been a huge disappointment with the Lions and hasn't made significant progress since coming to the team, KhaDarel Hodge has made major strides with the Lions. Hodge wasn't even on the Lions Game Day Roster for the opener vs. the 49ers. Even from the 1st QTR to late in the 4th QTR in the game at Minnesota, Hodge made substantial improvement. His route running and awareness combination were much better in the 4th QTR than it was on the 3rd Down incomplete pass on the Lions first drive that forced the Lions to settle for a FG attempt ( which was successful ). Hodge has earned the opportunity to play that much more vs. the Bengals.

KhaDarel Hodge hasn't played as well as he did earlier in the season. Including, on Special Teams. Whether Hodge will be in the Lions plans beyond this season remains to be seen. The remainder of this season is critical for him, in terms of whether the Lions will bring him back to compete for a roster spot for the 2022 season. There is potential. A huge key is Hodge needs to be more consistent with concentration.
