I like the idea of D'Andre Swift and Jamal Williams being on the field at the sane time. Both RB's have the ability to be major contributors in both the Lions running and passing games.

With Swift, the ability to be a high caliber all around RB is there. If he noticeably improves his consistency, focus, and is more durable, a Pro Bowl caliber season is a very realistic possibility.

The Lions have a top-10 OL so a "Pro Bowl caliber season" is not unrealistic.

The # 22 ranking for D'Andre Swift at this point in time is fair. I definitely believe Swift has the potential to be much better than the 22nd best RB in the NFL.

A thought that comes to mind is that the missed practice time for D'Andre Swift. both not having an off-season and the hamstring injury he suffered in training camp, contributed greatly to lapses in vision and indecision. That might be why Swift didn't look as fast and quick at times.

Because of the upside that Swift displayed as a runner and receiver at some other times, I'm optimistic that he has the upside to be somewhere in the top 10 best NFL RBs for the 2021 season.

D'Andre Swift is probably one of numerous NFL players who probably chose to be vaccinated because of the COVID-19 policies of the NFL. Regardless of one's opinion of the vaccines, Swift being concerned about not letting down his teammates is a plus.

The groin injury D'Andre Swift is dealing with could prove to be a season long problem that the Lions will attempt to manage. Including, the possibility of limited carries and even Swift being kept out of one or more regular season games. Hopefully, surgery won't be necessary or even recommended.

The Lions just don't have enough offensive assets, and Swift is the cornerstone of a dominant running game.
It's hard to envision a productive season without him on the field.

I definitely agree with you. This has been my line of thinking as D'Andre Swift's groin injury has lingered. The caution the Lions brass is using with Swift is necessary.

Thankfully, D'Andre Swift's groin injury has improved substantially to the point that he's been able to practice in full for 2 straight days this week...

As much as Duce Staley would like to ride a hot Swift, the big picture needs to be kept in mind. Dan Campbell and Anthony Lynn should stay on top of the situation with Swift, as the game moves on.

Under the circumstance of the information appearing on the Internet, Dan Campbell and the overall Lions organization made a good decision by not providing the media access to speak with D'Andre Swift. Anything that Swift would say publicly about the information on the Internet isn't going to help him. Unless something changes from the overall situation, Swift shouldn't be under the microscope for anything beyond NFL football as a player on the Detroit Lions.
