The Lions did a good job on Offense in Green Bay, for the most part, until the 4th and 1 incompletion in the middle of the 3rd QTR. I don't think the Lions usage of D'Andre Swift impacted the game until the 4th and 1 play. On that play, Swift very likely would have moved the chains if Jared Goff threw to him ( WR Aron-Ra St.Brown was also open ) instead of the attempted pass to Quintez Cephus.

The Lions then only had one play ( fumbled snap ) on Offense before the score was Packers 35, Lions 17, which ended up as the final score.

Having said all of this, getting D'Andre Swift more touches ( in a sensible manner ) earlier in games moving forward is a good idea, if his groin situation is under control.

D'Andre Swift and Roquan Smith. ( vs. the run and on blitzes, in addition vs. the pass ( coverage ) are key elements of this game.

Finding the right balance of using D'Andre Swift is easier said than done. Because as a receiver Swift won't get the wear and tear that he would get if he gets a heavy rushing load, I think the Lions coaches are doing a very good job for the most part, with how they are using Swift. An exception was using Swift over Jaamal Williams on two straight short yardage situations in which the LA Rams ended up preventing Swift from getting a first down.

While it's highly likely Jonathan Taylor will win this week's RB Award, the progress of Swift, especially as a rusher, is one of the best developments of the 2021 season for the Lions. He also improved in pass protection in Cleveland, compared to the game in Pittsburgh the previous week.

I'm anticipating and hopeful that the Lions will use D'Andre Swift as part of a rotation in Seattle, in which he's not clearly the Lions feature RB. Being that Swift appears to be healthy enough to play without significant risk of re-injury to his shoulder or another injury because he's compensating for the shoulder, I'm comfortable that the plan is for Swift is to play in this game.
