Lions offense ranked dead last in NFL by CBS Sports
....
At the very least, I think the Lions will be better than at or near the bottom of the NFL on Offense in the 2021 season in the context of the Offense's effectiveness in the Lions overall game strategies. A more effective running game, which I'm anticipating, should aid Jared Goff / Lions passing game. As well as aid the Lions Defense.

Lions had best team's best rushing attack in almost 20 years in 2021
.....
Though the Lions didn't meet my expectation of the team's running game finishing in the top half of the NFL in the 2021 season in rushing yards per game, the final season rushing results were favorable when factoring in the Lions injuries and COVID-19 test results. The loss of Frank Ragnow for all but 3 1/4 games and Taylor Decker for the first 8 games was especially adversely impactful for the Lions running game. The season ending concussion that WR Tyrell Williams suffered in the season opener vs. SF and losing WR Quintez Cephus for the season near the end of the first half of game # 5 (at Minnesota) were substantial non-Offensive Line losses, regarding the Lions running game. The Lions lost a number of other players on Offense for far lesser time that also adversely affected the Lions running game.
With the Lions starting Offensive Line (which never played a down together all regular season) all under contract for the 2022 season, I'm optimistic the Lions running game will at least be better on a yards per game basis, in the 2022 season.
