Congratulations to Darius Slay! Tremendous accomplishment, considering the Lions 3-9-1 record and the overall struggles by the Lions Defense.

When factoring in the Lions subpar overall pass rush and that Darius Slay often covers the opposition # 1 WR, a strong case can be made that Slay is deserving of going to his 3rd Straight Pro Bowl.

If Darius Slay is traded by the Lions in 2020, the most likely times for a trade to occur are early in the NFL FA Period, during the Draft, and around the NFL Trade Deadline. If it's the latter, it likely would be by an interim GM.

Darius Slay is genuine. He's also amongst the best CBs in the NFL. Hopefully, the Lions and Slay can work out a contract extension that makes sense for both parties. It won't be easy.

Lions star Darius Slay almost backed out of the Pro Bowl after Kobe Bryant died

Even 5 days later, the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his 13 year old daughter, and 7 other people feels like it's a nightmare. If Darius Slay would have elected not to play in the Pro Bowl game after just finding out about the tragedy, it would have been more than understandable. I give Darius Slay a lot of credit for playing in the game and being effective as a CB.
