Randy Bullock is a decent option as Lions Kicker. But no one will confuse him with Matt Prater on FG attempts.

Having viable competition for Bullock is important. The Lions should strive to try to raise Bullocks game or replace him with someone who earns the opportunity to be the Lions Kicker. Whether Matthew Wright is at least viable competition remains to be seen.

Ironically, one of Randy Bullock's Assistant Special Teams Coaches in Cincinnati was Brayden Coombs, who was fired as Lions Special Teams Coordinator the day after the loss at Tennessee in December.

Randy Bullock isn't a lock to be with the Lions in the 2021 Regular Season. However, this contract makes him the favorite. Matthew Wright and any other competition at Kicker will have to clearly be better than Bullock leading up to the cut down to 53 players.

If Randy Bullock averages the combination of around 83.17 % on FG Conversion % and 60% for FGs of 50 yards or longer, and 70 % of his Kickoffs being Touchbacks( when the intention is for a Touchback, I hope he's the Lions Kicker for many years. Being that the majority of the Lions regular season games will be in a dome stadium ( at least 8 home games and a game at Minnesota ), these are the type of % numbers that the Lions should expect from whoever the team's kicker is. The overall FG / PAT units must hold up their end of the bargain as well.
