Sure, Cordarelle Patterson was also used in the RB rotation and considering his performances, he probably considers himself more than just a KR / occasional RB.

Definitely.
While Cordarelle Patterson has some value as a RB, its his Kickoff Returning skills that are very difficult to replace. Much like the combined Return skills that the Lions lost when Jamal Agnew received an offer from the Jaguars, that understandably led to the Lions going in a different direction.

Buccaneers sign Antonio Brown
......
It's a credit to Bruce Ariana and Tom Brady that the Bucs have been able to keep their Super Bowl Winning team together. With the Glazier Family and GM Jason Licht also making a major positive difference.
From my point of view, the 2021 Bucs are the only NFL team entering a draft since at least the early 1990s that doesn't have a short term need for a starter or key player in a sub-package.

Golden Tate wouldn’t mind playing with Matthew Stafford again
......
Golden Tate becoming teammates with Jalen Ramsey is something that Tate probably wouldn't have seriously considered when released by the Giants a few months ago. Apparent much lower demand for Tate's services than he anticipated probably changed Tate's thought process.

Could Kelvin Harmon bolster the Lions receiving corps?
.....
Because Kelvin Harmon is a former 6th Round pick under his rookie contract, the cost to claim him off waivers would be low. There's very little downside for the Lions to claim him.
With Harmon coming off a torn ACL, he probably is still in the process of regaining his pre-injury skills. At least in the short run, my expectations for him as an NFL player are modest, at best. If the Lions are looking for a noticeable upgrade for the 2021 season, Harmon probably won't provide that.

Rams release DeSean Jackson
.......
Being that the Lions have priority waiver claim rights the remainder of the season until at least when the Lions win a game, I think the Lions will give serious consideration to claiming DeSean Jackson. I'm not a fan of Jackson off the field but will respect the decision on Jackson made by Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell
As a player, Jackson has the speed AND vertical playmaking ability that the Lions have lacked this season. If the Lions claim Jackson, the team can move on from him without his entire remainder of his 2021 salary being guaranteed.
A key component of the decision the Lions need to make is will Jackson buy in to being on a team that is going nowhere in the standings?
Also, why did the LA Rams move on from Jackson, despite Jackson having the physical skills to help them?
Brad Holmes has plenty of associations in the Rams organization. If the Lions pass on Jackson, it will speak volumes about the player.

Veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson clears waivers, hits free agency ...................
I stand corrected regarding the guarantee component on what was DeSean Jackson's 2021 season contract.
The fully guaranteed component likely contributed to DeSean Jackson not being claimed off waivers. Because Jackson is a vested veteran and he was on the LA Rams opening day roster, his 2021 season salary under the terms of his contract would have indeed been fully guaranteed if he was claimed off waivers.
It's more likely that Jackson ends up with a playoff contender than with the Lions.

Titans releasing Josh Reynolds
............
I think there's at least a 60 % chance the Lions claim Josh Reynolds off waivers. Need + familiarity ( Brad Holmes and Jared Goff ), as well as a modest salary cap number for the remainder of the season, all are factors why I believe there's a good chance the Lions will claim Reynolds.
