Detroit Lions officially hire Dave Fipp as special teams coordinator

Dave Fipp is at least a solid addition to the new Lions Coaching Staff under Dan Campbell. His extensive experience being a NFL Special Teams Coordinator with the Eagles, including under 2 Head Coaches, and being part of a Super Bowl winning staff, are positives. Jake Elliott was one of the best kickers in the NFL his first 3 seasons under Fipp. Like many other kickers, Elliott didn't have as good of a season in 2020.

One concern regarding Fipp is that Jamal Agnew had a kickoff return for a TD early in the Lions road win over the Eagles in Sept. 2019.

The 9 combined Return TDs on Special Teams for the Eagles over the last 8 seasons are good results.

I'm comfortable with the Dave Fipp hiring. Nothing alarming or even close to alarming.
