Matthew Stafford not at Lions practice; Kenny Golladay, 2 offensive linemen out too


Matthew Stafford was placed on the COVID-19 list later in the day.

When combining the players that didn't practice on Wednesday because of injuries ( including those that landed on I.R ) or COVID-19, the Lions injury + COVID-19 situation went from one of the best in the NFL before the Colts game, to one of the worst at present.

This is a different injury for Taylor Decker than the shoulder injury that he suffered in practice last week.

The injury news on the Lions Offensive Line is better than from Wednesday. However, Joe Dahl is trending in the wrong direction.

It doesn't bode well for a player to be healthy enough to play in a Sunday game when he misses Thursday's and Friday's practice with an injury. I don't expect any of these players to play at Minnesota this Sunday.

In addition to the Vikings being down 3 CBs on their active roster, starter Mike Hughes was placed on IR 6 days ago because of a neck injury.

Even with the Vikings dealing with an acute CB situation, the Lions are without Kenny Golladay and almost certainly Jamal Agnew.

It remains to be seen what will transpire with Matthew Stafford, based on availability and effectiveness ( if he plays, without practicing this week. ). The Lions are also dealing with injuries on the Offensive Line and T.J. Hockenson was limited in practice on Wednesday.

The good news in addition to Desmond Trufant not given an injury designation, is the same regarding Taylor Decker, and Joe Dahl not being ruled out at this time.
