My guess is Sheila Ford Hamp is going to have even less patience than her Mother, if the Lions don't have substantial tangible improvement in 2020. Unlike with Martha Firestone Ford, her daughter Sheila Ford Hamp can distance herself from the hiring of Bob Quinn and eventually Matt Patricia to some extent.

The question that jumps out the most is why did Martha Firestone Ford ( or her late husband ) decide to make Sheila Ford Hamp the Lions Owner and Chairman instead of Bill Ford Jr.?

I can answer this question for you. Bill Ford was very close with his dad and him and his sister don’t get along. His brother in law (married to Sheila) was his Chief if Staff at Ford but when they were losing billions of dollars, Alan Mulally (who saved Ford) made a lot of cuts include Bill Ford’s Chief of Staff. Sheila didn’t like that at all and Bill supported Alan Mulally all the way. When the old man died that was the time for the “Ford women” to put their footprint on the family legacy since Bill Ford is in full control of the family company. Bill is still with the Lions on paper but he has zero influence on the team. I’m not surprised at this because the Ilitch Family have similar issues with their siblings

Thanks, Batchrules! Excellent information, even know I wish the situation was vastly different. I would have noticeably more confidence in Bill Ford Jr. as Lions owner than I do with Sheila Ford Hamp.
