Only 9 snaps - 1 run for 3 yards - against Washington in week 10. His situation in the rotation is not improving.

The good news is D'Andre Swift stepped up against the WFT.
If the thump injury Matthew Stafford suffered significantly affects his throwing or is sidelined because of the injury, there should be plenty of rushing opportunities for 3 RBs.

I'm sure he would like to prove that he is more than just a valuable blitz picker

Kerryon Johnson also allowed a sack in pass protection on the Lions final Drive of the game vs. the Texans. Yet, even with the two sacks given up in the 2 combined games, Kerryon Johnson is at or near the top of the list of the best Pass Blocking RBs in the NFL.
Even taking the fumble vs. the Texans out of the equation, Kerryon Johnson no longer looks like a # 1( starting ) NFL RB in a RB tandem. From my perspective, Johnson hasn't been as good of a runner as he was prior to the knee injury he suffered as a rookie vs. the Panthers in November, 2018.

Alas, running back careers are on the short side.

In the case of Kerryon Johnson, he had a concerning injury history with Auburn. It's one reason why I thought it was a mistake for the Lions to trade up in the 2nd Round in 2018 for him. It's one thing to take Johnson in Round 2. It's another to give up a 4th Round Pick to secure his rights. That trade is an example why the Lions don't have enough young talent.
