As impressive as Matthew Stafford and his WRs have been, imagine how much more effective they would be if the Lions had a much more consistently effective running game and Defense.
With Matthew Stafford out, Kenny Golladay and other Lions targets have to help Jeff Driskel ( or David Blough ) out. Even one catchable ball that isn't caught by the Lions might be too much for the Lions to overcome. As great of a play Galladay made on what became a TD, he was unable to catch 3 balls that would have been 1st Downs for the Lions. None were routine plays. But all hit his hands. The high pass around the Bears 15 yard line in the 1st QTR is a play Galladay should have made.
The Lions horrible W-L record made it very difficult for a Lions player who never came close to making the Pro Bowl prior to this season being voted to the Pro Bowl.
There's probably around a 50 % chance that Kenny Golladay will have the opportunity as a 3rd Alternate to play in the upcoming Pro Bowl.
Based on past history under Bob Quinn, a contract extension with Kenny Golladay probably won't occur until sometime after the draft. With the summer the most likely time for a contract extension by the Lions, with Golladay.
