UDFA tracker: Lions land promising Washington TE Hunter Bryant
…………….
Once the Lions announce contract agreements with one or more UDRFAs, I plan on starting threads for at least some of the Lions 2020 UDRFAs. This thread can be used as a general thread regarding Lions 2020 UDRFAs.
Some initial thoughts:
I'm surprised the Lions aren't putting a greater emphasis ( at least for now ) on adding a TE who can effectively replace Logan Thomas' role as an in-line and overall blocker.
Hunter Bryant was projected by many to go in Round 3. I didn't include Hunter Bryant in my 109 player Mock Draft, that concluded with the 3rd pick in Round 4. Yet, I thought Bryant would be taken in Round 4. I'm very surprised he wasn't drafted. Being that the Lions didn't draft a TE and haven't added any as UFAs as of now, Bryant should have a very good opportunity to land an opening day roster spot.
Luke Sellers went to the same college as Zach Zenner.
Jalen Elliott was coached by the Lions Coaching Staff at the Senior Bowl and had a strong week in Mobile.
Bobby Price is a great athlete from a small football school.
Jeremiah Dinson and Arryn Siposs worked with Lions new Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Morris Henry with Auburn. Henry had that same job title with Auburn for the previous 4 seasons.
Steven Wirtel would be the 3rd Long Snapper on the Lions 90 man off-season roster, barring an expected roster move. With Don Muhlbach not being part of the expected roster move in the off-season.
