The most likely outcome is the Lions re-sign Logan Thomas and don't end up drafting a TE unless it's in the 6th Round or later.

If the Lions don't re-sign Thomas or add a TE in Free Agency with the upside of being at least a # 2 TE, a TE as early as the 3rd Round would likely be in play for the Lions.

This doesn't appear to be a strong TE Draft Crop. There's a good chance a TE isn't drafted in Round 1 in 2020.

Because UFA Logan Thomas signed elsewhere, TE is a need for the Lions. Though I believe the Lions have a greater need for a TE who would be an asset as a blocker, ideally the Lions are able to draft a TE who like Thomas can contribute as a receiver as well.

Most likely, there's not going to be good enough value for the Lions to draft a TE in at least the first 3 Rounds. Especially, when factoring needs at a number of other positions being greater.
