With Kenny Golladay almost certainly out at Minnesota and Jamal Agnew not practicing yesterday because of the rib injury he suffered against the Colts, Quintez Cephus very likely will get opportunties in the upcoming Vikings game.
With Matthew Stafford not available for practice this week, chemistry with Cephus could easily be an issue once again if Stafford plays in the game. The Lions all of a sudden have so many issues on both sides of the ball that it feels like the football equivalent of trying to put out several fires at the same time.

........
Much like when Kenny Golladay suffered a hamstring injury in 2017, his rookie season, I believe that it's likely that Golladay attempted to come back too soon from the hip injury he suffered against the Colts. The approach used when Golladay suffered a hamstring injury in the days leading up to the 2020 season opener vs. the Bears decreased the chances of that hamstring injury lingering.

Kenny Golladay’s season is all but over. Is his Lions career over too?
.........
One thing that I haven't seen or heard mentioned is Kenny Golladay was 24 by the middle of his rookie season. He will be 28 in the middle of next season. It's even more understandable that Golladay wants a long term contract than if he came into the NFL at a younger age.

According to spotrac, Kenny Golladay (19 M/y) would be worth nearly twice as much as Marvin Jones (10 M/y) ! You're the specialist of these salary cap budgetary constraints so how could the Lions figure out a way to build a competitive team with Stafford (33 M) + Golladay (19 M) considering such huge cap hits ?

The question you mentioned, along with the NFL Salary Cap in 2021 likely going down substantially because of COVID-19 ramifications, the long list of Lions 2021 UFAs, the adjustment to a new coaching staff / ( systems ) , and the list of 2021 opponents, are combined reasons why I think the 2021 season shapes up as a huge challenge for the Lions.
If the Lions make a serious attempt at competing to be a team that has a very realistic chance at advancing in the playoffs, working out a contract restructuring with Matthew Stafford and / or signing Kenny Golladay to a long term contract, are necessary to get their 2021 salary cap numbers down. Unless, the Lions are able to effectively replace one or both of them.
