Lions will interview Todd Monken for OC, plus other staff reports
-- The Lions interviewed a division rival for their special teams coordinator position, NFL Network reported. They met with Mike Priefer, who has coordinated Minnesota’s special teams since 2011 and who happens to be the son of Chuck Priefer, who coordinated Detroit’s special teams with good success from 1997-2006. He was in demand this offseason, as the Vikings made him an offer to return and the Falcons interviewed him, but he has chosen to return to his hometown of Cleveland to join Freddie Kitchens' new staff.

Mike Priefer had more his share of criticism in Minnesota in the 2018 season. But given his overall track record with the Vikings, I would have been more than content if he became the Lions Special Teams Coordinator.
