Detroit Lions part with 6 assistants, but not Paul Pasqualoni
…………..
None of the 6 firings were surprising.
The Lions Special Teams were a mixed bag. Too many penalties on Special Teams Coverage, a blocked Punt and FG early in the season, and a Kickoff Return for a TD that probably cost the Lions the Redskins game all probably contributed to the decision to move on from John Bonamego.
The Lions certainly didn't get the type of TE play that I was anticipating in the 2019 season.
The LBs and DBs collectively didn't perform as well as they should have. This is even factoring in the Lions problems up from.
Injuries taking their toll on the Lions for a 2nd season in a row, with the 2019 season injury situation for the Lions being amongst the worst in team history ( which is really saying something ), made it essential that the Strength and Conditioning program needed major changes.
More coaching changes in one form or another on the Lions staff are very likely.
