………………….
My guess is the Lions will be somewhere in the middle of the NFL regarding the amount of dead salary cap space in 2020.

Lions rank 2nd in available salary cap room entering the 2020 NFL Draft
………………..
If as expected the Lions sign Kenny Golladay to a contract extension, that is also going to cost least several million of salary cap space for the Lions, for the 2020 season. The Lions have salary cap flexibility beyond getting the 2020 Draft Class under contract and signing Golladay to a contract extension. But it's not as much cap space as the Lions 2nd most available salary cap number from last week reflects on the surface.

The Lions are still sitting on almost $30 million in cap space for 2020
………….
Christian Covington agreed to contract terms with the Broncos earlier this week.
The Lions coming to a contract agreement with Taylor Decker is probably going to take more compromise than in most contract negotiations with NFL veteran players. How much does Decker value financial security compared to letting the 2020 season play itself out could easily be the difference in whether the two parties come to a contract agreement in the next 10 plus months.
