The Packers decision to hire Matt LeFleur as HC surprised me. I thought LeFleur was not going to get an NFL HC job until at least 2020, based on his background.

The Packers are going for the higher reward and risk type of coach, compared to a safer option with less upside.

Very surprised by this signing. I’m guessing a lot of Packer fans were asking “Who?” after this announcement.

Joe, it sure looks like a common theme with all 3 of the NFL HC hires this winter through this point in time is selecting a coach with a background in a highly productive passing Offense.

I consider this a good decision. Much like the decision Matt Nagy made last winter in retaining Vic Fangio as Bears Defensive Coordinator.
