I think part of Doug Pederson's decision is the Eagles have a Thursday Night game in Green Bay in 8 days from today.

Carson Wentz clearly was injured in the 2nd QTR in Atlanta. It first looked to me that he suffered a rib ( s ) injury. I'm interested to see the official injury report later today.

The Eagles injuries could very realistically impact this game. Yet, the Eagles are a deep team that probably can withstand injuries at most positions better than most NFL teams.

Going into this game, it looks like the Lions indeed are on the more favorable side when it comes to the injury factor.

The Eagles have a history of overcoming injury adversity at home. Their playoff run in the 2017 season immediately comes to mind quickly.

The Eagles won't have the firepower they normally have. That doesn't change the fact that they have multiple differential players on both sides of ball that will be able to play barring something very unexpected. This game is there for the taking for the Lions. But it's going to take a more complete game than what the Lions provided in the first 2 games of the season.
