More than any of the pre-season games, this one is about keeping key contributors out of harm's way and evaluating players for roster spots.
More likely than not, Oday Aboushi will survive the cutdown to 53. It's far from a given though. Not to mention, plenty on the Lions roster can change in the days leading up to the opener at Arizona. Aboushi hasn't shown enough that he warrants a roster spot based on his contract. Not to mention that he's only been used at Guard in the pre-season. Aboushi has experience at Tackle. Yet, the Lions apparently don't view him as a viable option at Tackle. Position versatility is huge when it comes to backup Offensive Lineman. Especially, when they don't have significant upside potential.
