If not for the Chargers committing a penalty ( I believe it was a Holding Call on the play ( there were offsetting penalties, my guess is the Chargers would have challenged the play. And it would have been ruled a fumble after a replay review. It was a great play by Chargers DE Isaac Rochell that thankfully was automatically erased because of the Chargers penalty.

Great job by Jamal Agnew and by Matt Patricia and Matthew Stafford.

I had doubts Patricia would give Agnew another opportunity, after what transpired against the LA Chargers the week before. Agnew demonstrated why the Lions turned to him again. Whether Agnew can protect the ball consistently moving forward is by far the # 1 question with him as a Lions player?

I was surprised to see Jamal Agnew on the field to return the kick; I also had my doubts. It WAS fun to watch, and a great response to the Eagles’ opening drive. I’m still not 100% comfortable with Agnew returning kickoffs/punts; but this was a solid performance.

Joe, my concern with Jamal Agnew is greater on Punt Returns than Kickoff Returns. The margin of error in fielding/ securing a punt is less than on a kickoff. A muff on a punt, like was in the case at Arizona, easily could result in a turnover.

As long as Jamal Agnew demonstrates ball security in his opportunities, including on Returns, I hope that he gets more snaps on Offense per game. Agnew's speed and game changing skills are differential.

Players like Jamal Agnew, that have game changing abilities, usually get opportunities that other players don't when they make costly mistakes. Though the Lions didn't win at Denver, Agnew put the Lions in good position to get a win.
