At the very least, Jermaine Kearse provides the Lions with a WR with extensive winning experience, a WR who played under Offensive Coordinator Darrell Bevell, and much needed proven depth. Yet, the question remains, how much remaining does Kearse still have in the tank???

Good signing...even if Jermaine Kearse is just around long enough to help the other receivers learn the new offense. I’ll be curious to see if he’s still on the roster at the start of the regular season.

Joe, because Jermaine Kearse probably won't be a significant positive factor on Special Teams, he's probably going to have to clearly warrant a WR spot based on the WR positions and intangibles. Normally, backup WRs are counted on to be Special Teams assets, if they aren't major upside developmental WRs.

One positive in particular that comes to mind regarding Jermaine Kearse is he has extensive experience both with the Seahawks and the Jets in a run emphasis Offense.

If Jermaine Kearse is on the Lions roster in the regular season, an additional benefit he might provide is help keep Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones fresh. If Kearse warrants playing time, the Lions can rotate the 3 WRs.

All things considered, Kearse is a good risk/ reward pickup at this point of the off-season.

There's a pretty good chance that Jermaine Kearse will never play another down of football in an NFL Regular Season game. Especially, when factoring in the wear and tear and age factors. I hope he can overcome these injuries but it will be difficult.
