Lions experimenting with offensive line position changes for Frank Ragnow and Graham Glasgow

The more position versatility, at an acceptable level, the better. This would enable the Lions to have more flexibility in terms of adding one or more FA Offensive Lineman ( with different skills ) that realistically could upgrade the overall position group.

There's very little question the Lions rushing numbers would have been noticeably higher if Kerryon Johnson didn't suffer a season knee injury in the early part of the 4th QTR in Game # 10 vs. Carolina.

W/o T.J. Lang at all moving forward and overall uncertainty in the interior of the Offensive Line, the unit is a major question mark in the weeks leading up to training camp.

If the Lions don't make a significant addition in the Offensive Line interior, Joe Dahl is the player who I believe will emerge as the starter at the unsettled Guard position. With the Lions probably having two backups at Tackle and two backups in the interior.

If Frank Ragnow's ankle injury proves to be minor as reported and the Lions stay relatively healthy much more often than not upfront, the Lions should have an Offensive Line that should be at least average. Maybe, even an overall asset.

My concern is depth. I hope at least two upgrades are made in terms of O-Line depth in the next couple of weeks.

The Lions Offensive Line is trending upward in the last 2 games. The play by the O-Line interior and the vast improvement of Taylor Decker in Philadelphia are major reasons why the Lions haven't lost a game yet.

Though I disagree with the Lions Guard rotation, I respect the opinions, experience, knowledge, and efforts of Jeff Davidson. He's been a quality Offensive Line Coach in the NFL for a long time, with experience as an NFL Offensive Coordinator as well.
