Lions to debut black uniforms, blue helmets Monday
.......
While I prefer the Lions not to wear black, because the Lions did wear black (scarlet) during when Bo McMillin was the Lions Head Coach from 1948 to 1950, this justifies that black is a traditional color for the Lions. I didn't consider black a traditional color from the Lions when Matt Millan brought it to Detroit in the middle of the 2000s decade. That was a mistake on my part. The McMillin era set the stage for the Buddy Parker era, the most successful in Lions history.

Seahawks bring DT Quinton Bohanna back to the practice squad
........
Quinton Bohanna was on the Lions Practice Squad for most of last season. He was elevated from the Lions Practice Squad for 3 games in the late November/ early December period. The Titans signed him off the Lions PS shortly afterwards. Bohanna doesn't offer put as a pass rusher but he's a good run defender. The type of player who can occupy a couple of blockers, freeing up others to make the tackle. He's massive!

Two key questions for the Lions heading into the Seahawks game
.......
I'm assuming that Amik Robertson is going to be the Lions primary Nickel CB in this game. If that's the case, most likely, Kindle Vildor will be in the game as an Outside CB (opposite Terrion Arnold) in most Nickel Defensive calls by Aaron Glenn.

Detroit Lions 'really liked' Devon Witherspoon, but no regrets on missing him in draft
..........
The Lions would have probably lost the opportunity to draft two of the following players, CB Devon Witherspoon was still available with Pick # 6, and the Lions selected him in that spot: Jahmyr Gibbs or Jack Campbell, Sam LaPorta or Brian Branch. If the Lions traded up from Pick # 18 to draft Gibbs, the Lions more likely than not would have not ended up with Campbell, LaPorta, and Branch. With all due respect to Witherspoon, who is living up to his draft billing, I believe the Lions got a break with the Seahawks selecting him with Pick # 5 in the 2023 Draft. That much more with the Lions landing Terrion Arnold in the 2024 Draft, going from Pick # 29 to Pick # 24, in a trade with the Cowboys.

Detroit Lions vs Seattle Seahawks: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
.........
Boye Mafe, Byron Murphy, and Leonard Williams have been ruled out of the game by the Seahawks. The same with Edge Uchenna Nwosu, who missed the first 3 regular season games with a knee injury. Derick Hall, Dre’Mont Jones, and Trevis Gipson will probably get most of the Seahawks Edge snaps. The Seahawks are better equipped than most teams to withstand the losses of Mafe AND Nwosu, relatively speaking. Williams and Murphy are the Seahawks best all around interior Defensive Line players and will be difficult to replace, especially as pass rushers.

Detroit Lions make a surprising lack of roster moves for Seahawks game
...........
I'm surprised the Lions didn't elevate an Edge player or a Safety from the P.S.. The Lions versatility on Defense is going to be tested against the Seahawks. That much more if an injury occurs on the Edge, at Safety, or with someone the Lions plan on using as a Nickel Back.
