Lions legend, Hall of Fame LB Joe Schmidt has passed away

Very sad news.
Joe Schmidt was the Lions Head Coach when I became a fan of the Lions. Schmidt was one of the very few Lions HCs since the Lions most recent NFL Championship (1957 season)L who had a winning record as Lions HC.
Arguably, Joe Schmidt is the most accomplished Lions player of all-time with the franchise. Schmidt won 2 NFL Championships with the Lions, including as a rookie in the 1953 season. He was a leader on the Lions, which carried over to Schmidt becoming a Lions Assistant Coach, and eventually the team's HC.
I believe Joe Schmidt was the last living player on the 1953 Lions. The impact and contributions that Schmidt had for the Lions will live on.
