While the entire contract information isn't available, on the surface my guess is that the Lions weren't willing to come close to the contract that he accepted from the Broncos.

Josh Reynolds was a huge part in the Lions turnaround. An asset on the field and overall. I wish him the best with the Broncos, and in the rest of his NFL playing career, except when playing against the Lions.

It's more than understandable that Josh Reynolds decided to sign with the Broncos. I don't fault either the Lions or Reynolds in not working out a contract. The Lions salary cap situation and wanting Jameson Williams to be ahead of Reynolds in the Lions WR pecking order were probably the primary factors in the Lions not satisfying Reynolds' from a contract standpoint.

I would have been more than comfortable if the Lions offered this contract to Josh Reynolds. Especially, considering the chemistry factor with Jared Goff and Josh Reynolds, and Reynolds having a history of being a team player for the Lions.

With Josh Reynolds turning 29 back in February, I don't think he's going to get a better contract offer in a future season than he received from the Broncos. With WR being a deep position unit in this year's draft, it's understandable that Reynolds accepted the Broncos contract offer.

It's good to see Josh Reynolds thank the Lions fan base and Detroit. I'm sure he's disappointed the Lions brass didn't value him more. Yet, I can envision Reynolds being back with the Lions as a player at some point in the future.
