I watched the Thursday Night game in 2018 between the LA Rams and the Vikings back then. My impression was Jared Goff looked like a legit Franchise QB that evening. If Goff plays at that level, the Lions are going to be very difficult to defeat.

Caleb Williams had an interception in the Bears impressive win over the Jaguars. But after that, he played at a high level.

Both Caleb Williams had 4 TDs and 1 interception but threw for far fewer yards than Jared Goff did. If Goff doesn't win the award, it probably will be because the Lions running game was strong to the point that it opened up great passing opportunities.

I'm pleasantly surprised that Jared Goff had as high as a 140.0 QB Rating for the game. That much more with the Lions playing without RG Kevin Zeitler.

There was at least a couple of times in the Lions game vs. the Jaguars in which Jared Goff purposely threw passes that were going to be incomplete, when the Jaguars had the plays (screens) well defensed. Goff played at a very high level vs. the Jaguars. His performance warranted NFC Player of the Week but the award was given to Saints TE-QB Taysom Hill.
