Lions vs. Buccaneers broadcast team announced
........
I'm glad that the NBC # 1 announcing crew are are the announcers for this game, much like with the Lions 1st Round playoff game vs. the LA Rams. Mike Tirico is one of my top 2 favorite NFL Play by Play TV announcers, with CBS announcer Ian Eagle, the other. Tirico has excellent knowledge, enthusiasm, communication skills, and working chemistry with analyst Chris Collinsworth.

PFT’s 2023 NFL divisional round picks, Florio vs. Simms
Buccaneers at Lions (-6.5)
I love a good story. Both teams have given us a great story. The Bucs will be an even better story, if they can pull off the upset. I won’t be upset if they do, but I can’t pick against the Lions given the potency of their home-field advantage.
Florio: Lions, 24-13.
Simms: Lions, 27-24.
........
Unlike against the LA Rams in Round 1 of the playoffs where there wasn't a clear consensus on which team was predicted to win the game, the Lions are the clear consensus choice to win against the Bucs.

Bucs vs. Lions: Three keys to victory in the Divisional Round
.........
The Bucs running game improved from the time the Lions beat the Bucs in Tampa. It would be to the Lions advantage if the Bucs abandon the run.
I'm anticipating the Bucs will be blitzing early and often. How well Jared Goff and his supporting cast on Offense handle the Bucs blitzes could easily decide the outcome of the game.

Divisional Round picks: Who experts and pundits are taking in Bucs at Lions
.........
The Lions beat the Broncos back in mid December. Denver was 6-1 in their previous 7 games. In Round 1 of the playoffs, the LA Rams were 7-1 in their previous 8 games. The Lions hung on to beat the Rams, to advance to Round 2 of the playoffs. The Bucs are 5-1 in the previous 6 games, which I view as a positive from the standpoint that the Lions are well aware that this is a dangerous opponent.

Bucs Wire staff picks for Tampa Bay's NFC Divisional matchup against the Lions
.........
I appreciate the objective takes by these 3 writers that cover the Bucs.
A huge factor for this game is the health of Sam LaPorta. If LaPorta plays and isn't significantly limited because of the knee injury he's dealing with, that would make the Lions Offense substantially more difficult for the Bucs to defend.

Hey Lions forum! Sorry I’ve been MIA. Lots of life changes happened to me which explains my absence. After 11 years I’ve left Ford Motor Company for a better paying job and closer to home. Had lots on my mind as a result for such a big life change!
Anyway, you didn’t create this forum to hear about my personal affairs! We are here to talk football! I am actually going to the game tomorrow! This is a big deal for me since I’ve been to a playoff game for the Red Wings, Tigers and Pistons but never for the Lions! I can check this off my list tomorrow! I definitely will give a status report on all of the highlights from Detroit and Ford Field!
It will be important to realize that the Lions better prepare for a different Bucs team than they faced in October. I think a few of the players already realized that. The fact that they won’t be used to the noise I hope will help us out. So far the loudest I’ve seen Ford Field out of all the games was the INT by Quandre Diggs against the Jets on Monday Night Football for a pick six in 2018. I anticipate that record will be broken tomorrow!
I was disappointed to see Bill Vinovich will be our official for the game. He is not my favorite whatsoever! I would have much rather had Jon Hussey (Ravens-Texans official) or, my favorite, Shawn Hocculi. Hopefully Bill won’t make any boneheaded calls against us tomorrow!
I’m hearing a lot of people are hoping Green Bay wins tonight. While a Green Bay win and a Lions win will result in an NFC Championship game in Detroit, that’s a very dangerous game. San Francisco’s defense is top notch and if GB figures it out then the Lions will need to be near perfect if they want to advance. That would not be an easy game, just like the Bucs game won’t be as easy as October.
Go Lions!

Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dave Birkett's scouting report, prediction
..........
The Lions can't afford to give up big plays that result in TDs or set the Bucs up deep in Lions territory. If the Lions are able to handle the Bucs running game without putting an extra defender in or near the box, it's going to challenge Baker Mayfield's patience. It's difficult to put together a long scoring drive without sizable chunk plays and an ineffective running game.

Only the best to you with this news opportunity!
I'm looking forward to reading your report about today's Lions playoff game against the Bucs and the overall experience of going to the playoff game. Hopefully, you will see a Lions win today!
It's highly likely that today's Lions game will be the loudest Lions game you have experienced in Ford Field. It might not be as loud as last Sunday Night's Lions playoff game win over the LA Rams, as this game isn't the first Ford Field history, the Lions finally won a playoff game, Matthew Stafford isn't on the opposing team, and the game is at 3:00PM, not in prime time. But it still will be VERY loud!
Hopefully, the officiating doesn't impact the outcome of the game. It's always a concern, that much more in the playoffs, with 'all-star' officiating crews being used.
I strongly agree with your assessment, both about today's game and potential NFC opponents. I predicted the Packers would upset the Cowboys, after seeing how they performed in Minnesota and vs. Chicago in the last 2 games of the regular season. This on top of their wins over the Lions and Chiefs in consecutive games in late November. I picked the 49ers over the Packers in a closer game than the 9 1/2 point spread. The 49ers were fortunate to win the game. Good comeback by SF but they aren't the same team without WR Deebo Samuel.
If Samuel is out for the NFC Championship game and the Lions take care of business today, the Lions would have a realistic to a very realistic chance (at least 40%) at pulling off the upset in the NFC Championship game. The Lions don't match up well with the Packers, at least based on the Lions Defensive problems against the pass in the 2nd half of the season, and last week vs. the LA Rams in the 1st Round of the playoffs. Even on the road in SF, I think the Lions would have a BETTER chance to beat the 49ers (especially without Samuel) than if the Packers were the opponent in Detroit. It's still would be a major challenge to win at SF.
