Of the two players the Lions signed in the last 48 hours, Avery Davis has a better chance of being more than a fringe NFL player. So much depends on whether he can regain his pre-injuries skills. Realistically, Davis will have to go the practice squad route in the 2023 season, before potentially getting an opportunity on an NFL 53 man roster.
Tae Hayes has bounced around the NFL, with a USFL stint. It's doubtful that Hayes will become more than an injury fill in at or near the bottom of an NFL roster.
