The Lions make a trade to bring back kicker Riley Patterson
Lions agree to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars to acquire K Riley Patterson via trade

Riley Patterson and Michael Badgley are similar type of kickers, in that they have significant limitations regarding distance. Yet, they have a good track record on short and immediate FGs. Patterson is probably a slightly to somewhat better version of Badgley.
With the Lions paying a reportedly minimal trade compensation price for Patterson, and his contract being very team friendly, I'm more than comfortable with the trade.
Patterson has a track record of success on FGs with the Lions, familiarity with coaches and players on the Lions, and someone who came through for the Jaguars in the playoffs on all of his Attempts. Including, 3 for 3 on FGs, with a game winning 36 yard FG to give the Jaguars a 31-30 epic comeback win over the LA Chargers, in the first round of the 2022 season playoffs.
