Bud Grant dies at 95
Wilf family: Bud Grant “was the Vikings”
..........
Very sad news.
Bud Grant truly was the face of the Vikings. No one had a greater positive impact on the Vikings Franchise than Bud Grant did. He was a differential Head Coach. In the history of the Lions franchise, Bud Grant was the most impactful opposing HC when the teams faced each other. The Vikings won 13 straight games against the Lions, stretching from the late 1960s to the mid 1970s. With Bud Grant as Vikings HC, when they were playing home games at Metropolitan Stadium in cold weather games, I strongly believe that no NFL team had a greater home field advantage in outdoor games in NFL history.
Bud Grant was a great HC and an even better person. He will be greatly missed but his impact on and off the field will remain.
