REPORT: Detroit Lions visit with former Chargers’ LB Kyle Emanuel

Kyle Emanuel is basically an early down/ short yardage run Defender. If the Lions brass believes he's an asset when used on Special Teams, he's worth signing providing the price is low.

What stands out for me was the interception he had in his first NFL game, which was against the Lions. That was the game in San Diego the Lions lost after leading 21-3 in the 2nd QTR. That play was an exception, not the norm by Emanuel in pass coverage in the NFL.

Good decision by Kyle Emanuel. His long term health is much more important than attempting to play one or more additional seasons.

Kyle Emanuel wasn't going to be paid remotely close to the higher paid Inside / MLBs in the NFL. Yet, to his credit, he saw the big picture and acted accordingly.
