Lions sign free agent DT Isaiah Buggs

The Lions list Isaiah Buggs at 6'-3", 295. With Alabama and the Steelers, he played the 5-Technique DE frequently. In addition to that role, he probably will get opportunities this summer at 3-Technique and 1-Technique, as the Lions will be using more 4-man fronts. Buggs has an uphill (though far from impossible) battle to make the Lions opening day 53 man roster, as he wasn't with the team during the off-season program. Not to mention, two teams moved on from him in recent months. Working in Buggs favor is he played his college ball in a topflight program and was with the Steelers, a very well coached team and well-run organization, for 3 seasons.
