Lions 2022 draft preview: Detroit adds pieces at linebacker, but long-term need a must
............
Georgia LBs Nakobe Dean and Quay Walker are the LBs that I think the Lions are considering, if available with pick # 32 and pick # 34. Dean has been much more productive. Walker, a much bigger LB, probably has more upside.
Chad Muma will probably be selected in Round 2, at some point after pick # 34.
Christian Harris, Troy Anderson, and Leo Chanal will likely be selected sometime after pick # 34 in the early part of Round 2 through the first half of Round 3. Pick # 66 in the early part of Round 3 is the Lions current pick that is by far the most likely one of them would be selected by the Lions. If one of them unexpectedly lasts to pick # 97 in the latter part of Round 3 and the Lions didn't draft an off the ball LB before then, that player would probably be at or near the top of the Lions remaining draft board.
Brandon Smith is a wildcard in that he could go as early as Round 2 (probably not as high as pick # 34) and as low as sometime in Round 5. If Smith is available with pick # 97, he would be tempting.

NFL draft preview: Even after free agent signings, LB remains major need for Detroit Lions ..........
I think there's a pretty good chance that Nakobe Dean or Quay Walker will be available when the draft reaches pick # 32. The Packers with pick # 28 could easily draft one of them. If Walker is available with pick # 32 (or still available at # 34), I think he would make a great amount of sense for the Lions to select him. Walker seems like a better fit for the Lions than Dean because of the size factor.
If the Lions don't draft an off the ball LB in the first 2 Rounds, Troy Andersen looks like one of the Lions best options with pick # 66 if he's still available.
