Detroit Lions sign WR Tom Kennedy from their practice squad, waive DL Kevin Strong
........
I realize the Lions have more depth in the interior Defensive Line than anywhere else on the roster. However, exposing Kevin Strong to waivers is risky. I think there's at least a 50 % chance he's claimed off waivers. With Da'Shawn Hand and Nick Williams UFAs in 2022, having the low salary cap cost Strong in the mix would give the Lions more flexibility at other positions. If Strong isn't claimed off waivers, I the Lions will very likely attempt to sign him to a PS contract.

Lions officially waive Corey Ballentine and Kevin Strong
........
The Lions got a break with Kevin Strong not being claimed off waivers.
With Da'Shawn Hand suffering a groin injury (I'm not sure if he's a re-injury from the groin injury he suffered in training camp) in Cleveland, if Hand is expected to be out for multiple games, it would make sense re-signing Strong to the 53 man roster. With Hand being placed on IR again.

Former Lions Golden Tate and Kevin Strong sign with Titans practice squad
........
My guess is the Lions offered Kevin Strong a Practice Squad Contract but he elected to sign a P.S. contract instead. Strong now has the opportunity to earn a promotion to the Titans 53 man roster on a team that's a legit Super Bowl contender. I think the Lions made a mistake by releasing him and presumably not attempting to re-sign him to the 53 man roster, after placing Da'Shawn Hand on IR yesterday.
Golden Tate has a good opportunity to close his NFL career with another Super Bowl Championship.
The end of Adrian Peterson's HOF NFL playing career probably has occurred.
