David Blough needs to outperform Tim Boyle to survive the cut down to 53. If Blough wins a roster spot, there's at least a 50-50 chance the Lions go with 3 QBs.

Regarding Jared Goff, as long as he gets through the pre-season games relatively healthy and has positives he can build on, that in essence would be a win for the Lions at the starting QB position.
I think it makes sense to give Penei Sewell more pre-season game snaps than the Lions other 4 starting Offensive Lineman.
As long as Jeff Okudah is relatively healthy, I think there will be positives to build on.

Randy Bullock is going to need to gain the confidence of the coaches to be the Lions kicker when the team opens against the 49ers.
Logan Stenberg, like many other Lions players, is not only competing against Lions players for a roster spot, he's competing against players currently not on the team.
Anthony Pittman needs a strong pre-season, that much more on Special Teams, to have a realistic chance at being with the Lions when the regular season opens.

Regarding Alim McNeill, I hope the Bills play their starting interior Offensive Line. That would provide a better gauge regarding the extent of McNeill's progress.
It will be interesting to see if the Lions use Amon-Ra St. Brown exclusively in the slot on Offense vs. using him in other roles as well.
If Austin Bryant finally remains relatively healthy and builds on his impressive practice pass rush in the pre-season games, he should get plenty of regular season snaps off the edge.
Tim Boyle needs to be more accurate with his shorter passes.
In the 3 pre-season games, Jerry Jacobs, along with fellow Lions UDRFA AJ. Parker, have a great opportunity to secure roster spots if they build off their training camp play.

Other than the Lineman on both sides of the ball, the number changes since last season with the Lions, are abundant. Getting used to the Lions number changes, including the numbers of all the Lions new players, could take the entire pre-season.

The decision making of Jared Goff is likely going to be a prime Lions story throughout the season..
Ideally, Zane Gonzalez will prove to be a worthy successor to Matt Prayer. I'm not counting on it.
It's surreal that the first game of any type in the Lions Dan Campbell era is against Mitchell Trubisky. He's certainly one of the main reasons why the Lions previous regime is gone.
