The Vikings clearly were hoping that there was a viable path for them not to release Jeff Gladney. But today's indictment in Texas against Gladney would very likely have prevented Gladney from playing in the NFL at the very least this season. The NFL clearly isn't going to let Gladney play until at least when the case against Gladney is decided.
