6 things to watch for during Lions mandatory minicamp
........
I have doubt that the Lions would get enough back in a trade for Jamie Collins to make it worth the Lions trading him. With the versatile skills Collins has, combined with the Lions highly questionable depth at off the ball LB positions, it's probably best for the Lions to keep him going into training camp. Probably even into at least the early part of the regular season. An evaluation can then be made as the trade deadline gets closer.

Minicamp notes: Lions first-team defense shines on opening day
.......
What jumps out to me from this report is the continuing impressive practice play by Jeff Okudah. On the other side of the coin are the struggles of Tim Boyle. Maybe Boyle is one of the players in the NFL who is much better in practice than in games. Or maybe he needs more exposure in the Lions Offensive system. Yet, it's realistically possible that Boyle will turn out to be a complete FA bust.

Top 4 takeaways from Lions minicamp
.....
It wouldn't be surprising on this end if Brad Holmes decides to make a significant addition at WR, either before training camp or sometime after training camp begins.

On paper, the WR squad looks like the weakest link on offense ?

Yes.
Tyrell Williams is the only Lions veteran WR who likely would be a starter for more than a few teams.
Rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown might be a starting caliber slot WR. But he has yet to have a game snap in the NFL and his ceiling probably isn't high compared to most WRs drafted in the first 4 Rounds of the 2021 Draft.

Detroit Lions minicamp observations: T.J. Hockenson is headed for a big season in 2021
.........
Opposing Defensive Coordinators will probably focus heavily on limiting T.J.Hockenson's impact as a receiver.
It remains to be seen if the Lions # 3 TE is currently even with the team. The same might be the case at RB.
Even more concerning is the Lions # 2 WR might currently not be with the team.
On Defense, other than Tracy Walker, the Lions might not have a starting caliber caliber Safety on the roster.
